OIT-45 preservative is a broad-spectrum industrial fungicide, with highly effective that exhibits excellent fungistatic and fungicidal activity against fungi, including yeasts and mold, and Gram-Positive bacteria, and limited activity against Gram-Negative bacteria.   Commonly known as octhilinone, 2-n-octyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one is the active ingredient, It is supplied as a 45 percent active liquid in propylene glycol. Widely used for tankside control of fungi in metalworking.

Solubility

Octylisothiazolinone 45 is soluble in propylene glycol,  methanol, acetone, ethanol, ethyl ether, chloroform, butyl Cellosolve, ethyl acetate, corn oil, and mineral oil;   The solubility in toluene is 25% w/v.  Insoluble in heptane.

Compatibility

OIT 45 is compatible with most metalworking fluid additives, including surfactants and amines.  The compatibility of OIT-45 MW Biocide is concentration-dependent and varies from formulation to formulation, in the concentrate and use-dilution metalworking fluids.

Stability

In-Use Stability: Octylisothiazolinone has excellent stability in end use dilutions of metalworking fluids. It is stable over a wide pH range (4-10) in water and in metalworking fluid systems. Concentrate Stability OIT-45 preservatives stability, in metalworking fluidconcentrates, is variable.

Applications/ Directions for Use

Method of Addition

Octylisothiazolinone 45% liquid Biocide should be directly dispensed into metalworking fluid concentrates or use-dilution metalworking fluids using a metering pump or other point-of-use device where possible and uniformly dispersed throughout the fluid.

Application field:

Widely used in Paint,inks,lubricant,shoes cream,leather chemical,wood product and cultural relic protection etc.

Packing：25Kg/drum, 200Kg/drum or 1000Kg per IBC drum.
