General
Methylisothiazolinone 50 is an active ingredient solution for the preservation of paints, binder dispersions, adhesives and other technical products. MIT 50 fungicide contains an active substance permitted for use in food contact coatings and adhesives provided that the customary dosage rates are not exceeded. Methylisothiazolinone 50% preservatives is a straight aqueous solution of the active ingredient Methylisothiazolone, and does not contribute to VOC and AOX.

Miscibility/Solubility

Compatibility
Methylisothiazolinone 50% solution shows a very good compatibility even after undiluted addition. A series of experiments have shown that viscosity and color of the finished products preserved with MIT-50 remain unchanged.

Application and Dosage
MIT-50 biocide combines environmental acceptability with effective preservation. It can be used in a wide range of products. Suitabe for use in daily chemicals, cosmetics, paints, synthetic polymer emulsions, and other water-based systems.
Dosage
The optimum dosage rate of MIT 50 fungicide depends upon the degree of contamination and the susceptibility of the product to be preserved. Occasionally, the degree of contamination exhibits seasonal fluctuation, so that a periodical determination of germ counts can assist in choosing the optimum dosage rate.
The typical use concentration ranges between 0.01 – 0.03%.

Usage andCautions
1. For use in paints, synthetic polymer emulsions and other water-based systems, the general concentration of using is 0.05-0.1% (w/w); for use in daily chemicals, the concentration is 0.02-0.1% (w/w), depending on the storage environment and whether the product is susceptible to damage of microorganisms.
2. MIT 50 biocide could be added at any production step; but it's suggested to be added at the final step at less than 50 ℃; avoid adding at a temperature of higher than 50 ℃. Wear protective clothes, rubber gloves, goggles and masks; avoid any contact with the skin, eyes and mucous membranes.
Storage: To be stored at room temperature in a dark place; with a shelf time of one year.
