DMDMH is soluble in water, lower alcohols, ethylene glycol, stable in the water phase and oil-water emulsion can be stored for one year in the temperature -10 °C to 50 °C, PH value6.5 to 8.5.
The active ingredient of DMDMH, DMDM Hydantoin, is permitted for use in cosmetic and personal care products in the USA and the EU to a maximum concentration of 0.6%. DMDMH is compatible with essentially all cosmetic ingredients, such as surfactants, emulsifiers, proteins, aloe and amines. DMDM hydantoin is an excellent preservative for both leave-on and rinse-off products such as shampoos, creams, lotions, bubble baths, rinses, wipes and towelettes. It is easy to handle, very stable and cost-effective. The recommended use level is 0.1~0.6% by weight of product as supplied. DMDM hydantoin biocide exhibits an excellent synergistic preservative effect in combination with Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate (IPBC), Parabens and Isothiazolinones. It is stable over a wide range of pH and temperature conditions. It does not discolor product when combined with additives or by changes in pH. It can be added at a wide range of temperatures from ambient to elevated 80℃.

Uses:
DMDM hydantoin is easily soluble in water, can be added into the cream at room temperature or the emulsion ingredients of coatings. DMDMH offers good compatibility with cationic, anionic and nonionic surfactants, emulsifiers and protein, and offer antimicrobial activity in long term, wide PH value and temperature range. DMDMH can inhibit Gram-positive bacteria, Gram-negative bacteria and other bacteria, or used to control the growth of yeast and mold.
Application:

The antisepsis of daily products such as shampoo, conditioner, shaving, foundation, lotion, cream, baby products, sunblock and cleaning agent, etc.
