General
TCMTB is an oily, flammable, red to brown liquid with a pungent odor that is very slightly soluble in water. It decomposes on heating producing hydrogen cyanide, sulfur oxides, and nitrogen oxides. The degradation products are 2-mercaptobenzothiazole (2-MBT) and 2-benzothiazolesulfonic acid.
Application: Biocides, widely used as bactericide for industrial circulating water and industrial cooling water, leather, agrochemicals, making paper, timber, coating and cutting oil. It has special effect on mucedine. It has very strong killing and control effects on the existing main bacteria, fungi and algae.
Using method:
TCMTB can be dispersed in the water. It should be diluted into the water, but not reversed.
TCMTB should be decomposed slowly in dilution.
