Benzisothiazolinone (BIT) is an organic compound widely used as an industrial and domestic preservative and antimicrobial agent, found in paints, cleaning products, adhesives, and other household items to prevent the growth of bacteria and fungi.

Benzisothiazolinone is a broad spectrum microbicide for the preservation of industrial water-based products against the attack of microorganisms. Used for the preservation of polymer emulsions, paints and coatings, adhesives, and printing inks.

MB-5 biocide is an aqueous solution of BIT (1,2-Benzisothiazolin-3-one) and MIT(2-Methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one) at a ratio of 1:1 for the in-can preservation of technical products.
